What is Pre-StarSkate Academy?

Pre-StarSkate Academy is an energetic skating program designed for those skaters looking to start their journey into figure skating.

Who’s it for?

For skaters who have completed STAGE 2 in the CanSkate program and who have a desire to be a Figure Skater.

Who teaches it?

NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants.

What will you learn?

A complete series of balance, control and agility skills taught in CanSkate STAGES 3- 6 of learning that pertain to basic skating skills and figure skating.  Skaters will also work towards their Star 1 Figure Skating in the Skills, Dance and FreeSkate disciplines. Skaters in this program are required to have figure skates. This program runs twice per week with 2 days of on ice training as well as one day with an off ice session. In the off-ice sessions, skaters can expect to work on their on ice skills, strength, flexibility and overall physical literacy.  Pre-StarSkate Academy uses nationally-tested and proven curriculum and delivery methods that guarantee skater success in developing stronger basic skills and developing them faster.
